Through autobiographical narratives, Minding the Church details contributions of fourteen Anabaptist scholars to their disciplines plus features thoughtful responses. From philosophy to economics, from history to biblical studies, this volume gives voice to Anabaptist scholars as they explain their motivations and objectives as teachers, researchers, and writers.

Among the questions the authors engage are these: Why did they choose their profession? What questions motivate their research? What lasting contributions do they hope to make to the church and the world? In provocative and engaging ways, the contributors allow readers to enter their lives as they negotiate the treacherous but always stimulating terrain between church and academy.

Evident in these chapters is the fact that even as these scholars have much in common with other scholars, their Anabaptist perspective provides them with a unique set of questions and, in some cases, unique answers. This is "Christian scholarship" with a difference, reflecting concerns of those who continue to walk the path of the Radical Reformation.
