"Not since C. S. Lewiss Problem of Pain have I seen such a careful and sensible discussion of pain and evil. Watts looks ordinary pains and problems squarely in the eye and discusses them with clarity and common sense."
--James R. Edwards, Whitworth College, Spokane
We want a world without pain, fear, or heartache. When trouble comes our way, we cry, "Why me?"
Why do we suffer? Why does God let bad things happen to good people? To find answers, we must look beneath the surface of life, using the eyes of faith.
Is anyone listening? We shake our fists at heaven. We plead our case before God and others. We are sure we deserve better. In this certainty lie seeds of hope.
Will someone help ease the pain? For this to happen, we must dare to build something good out of lifes broken pieces. This is the work of love.
As we join our answers together like pieces of a puzzle, the picture begins to look like a cross, reminding us of Gods presence.
Includes discussion questions and a bibliography.
"Gary Watts brings his rich background as a college teacher and a Christian to this book. Here you will find lifes toughest questions dealt with in a way that is engaging, readable, and comprehensible. More important, he deals with these questions in a way that is explicitly Christian."
--William H. Willimon, in the Foreword
