About the Author and Illustrator

Rebecca Seiling, Waterloo, Ontario, graduated from the University of Waterloo with a BA in Religious Studies, with an option in Peace and Conflict Studies. She completed her BEd from Queen's University, specializing in Primary/Junior and global and outdoor education. She served for seven years as a kindergarten/grade one teacher and school director, and wrote primary and multiage levels of the 'Gather Round Sunday school curriculum. In addition to writing and gardening, her interests include camping, travel, and quilting.

Brooke Rothshank, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, works in a variety of media, including oil, watercolor, and collage. She is an aspiring glass blower and has instructed classes at Pittsburgh Glass Center. Brooke's work as a miniature artist has been exhibited around the U.S. and featured in Miniature Collector and Dollhouse Miniatures magazines. In 2006, Brooke illustrated her first children's book, Cups Held Out, for Herald Press.
